The Primary School has two Chaplains who are involved in teaching Christian Education, running lunchtime and after school Christian activities, worship assemblies, and caring for the children. In the Primary school, class devotion begins each day, including a Bible reading and prayer. Worship Assemblies are held regularly.
The Secondary School has a male and female Chaplain who works closely with the House Centre and Student Care team to provide pastoral and spiritual support and services to students and families. Devotions feature at all Secondary School assemblies and House assembly and are a regular part of the daily Connect time.
The Chaplains organises a range of Christian lunchtime and after school activities. These include lunch time small groups, a lunch time Chappie program and some after school well-being programs catered for boys and girls. Some of these include the Shine Girl Program, a Hillsong-based program which focusses on the topics Strength, Worth and Purpose through fun activities and discussions. Male students have the opportunity to be involved in the male version of Shine called Strength and the Purpose program which equips the boys with the knowledge and skills to discover who they are and the person they want to become.
Imagine Lunch time club also runs and allows an opportunity for students to be creative during lunch time while making new friends. Activities could include watercolour painting, making bead necklaces, macramé bracelets or key chains, making a glitter jar, card making, origami, polymer clay earrings and many more.
The Chaplaincy Department also runs Breakfast Club one morning of the week for students who arrive to school early. The Department offers several charity events each year which include 40 Hour Famine, Wells for Malawi, The String Movement and Share the Dignity.
The Easter Assembly is always a highlight on the calendar. The Chaplaincy Department runs the annual Easter assembly which includes a special time of singing worship songs followed by an inspirational message from a local Pastor.
The College has a relationship agreement with the LJB Church which has their offices on site. Students are welcome to participate in the youth and children’s programs offered after hours by the Lake Joondalup Baptist Church.
