Expressions of Interest are now open for the Semester 2, 2024 LJBC Football (Soccer) Development Program. This co-curricular opportunity will be available for both male and female students in Years 4 –12.

What is the LJBC Football Development Program?


The LJBC Football Development Program is a co-curricular program open to all students enrolled at LJBC, and is designed to provide a quality training environment where students can supplement their football skills with the high-level coaching available through the Football Academy. Students develop their functional game skills, focusing on individual and team playing principles. The Program is open to both Girls and Boys in Years 4-12, regardless of prior Football experience. The sessions are differentiated for playing ability, and are structured around small-sided games and the core skills of first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball and 1v1s.

Is there a pathway from the Football Development Program into the LJBC Football Academy?


The LJBC Football Development Program also provides a pathway into the LJBC Football Academy for students who aspire to do so. Students who are identified in the Football Development Program may be provided with the opportunity to move into the LJBC Football Academy environment on a temporary or permanent basis. Numerous students have made the progression from Development Program to the Football Academy since its inception in 2020.

What is the timetable for the Football Development Program?


Students participate in 1 football session per week, before school (outside of their usual timetabled classes) with the Football Academy coaches.

Is there a specific uniform/equipment required?


Students involved in the LJBC Football Development Program will wear their LJBC Sports Uniform, and will also need shin-pads and Football Boots for the sessions.
